Lake Al-Muzayrib
بحيرة المزيريب

A natural lake in the village of Al-Muzayrib in Daraa governorate, historically a stop on the Syrian Hajj route to the Hejaz.
Lake Al-Muzayrib lies in the village of Al-Muzayrib west of Daraa governorate, a natural lake fed by a number of local springs, and one of the most notable natural bodies of water in southern Syria. It was historically a major rest stop for the Syrian Hajj caravans traveling from Damascus to the holy lands of the Hejaz.
The area gained its historical importance thanks to its strategic location on the Hajj route, where caravans would stop to replenish their fresh water supplies and rest before continuing their long and arduous journey through the desert southward toward the Hejaz.
Today the lake is surrounded by green, cultivated land reflecting the fertility of the surrounding agricultural region, making it a local destination for relaxation and outings among area residents, alongside its historical value tied to the memory of the old Hajj routes.
Lake Al-Muzayrib remains a natural and historical witness to the importance of Daraa governorate as a strategic crossing point throughout history between the Levant and the Arabian Peninsula.
